MASHHAD

Residential complex

2006

DESCRIPTION:

The project was designed to accommodate all social classes in a shared space. The goal of the project was not to enclose the site with a wall or fence. Instead, take advantage of the combination of social surveillance and architectural design to enter and exit from the complex. Another idea was to develop different paths for pedestrians for various purposes.

Separating walkway from cars route to provide more safety for pedestrians and adequate space for leisure activities such as outdoor auditorium and playgrounds or other sport activities for residents was another advantage of this design. In addition, by placing building blocks on the site edges, the overall access including rescuers’ access to apartments are easily provided.
