DESCRIPTION:

After the Industrial Revolution, cities -especially those located in underdeveloped countries- have been attracting population for a variety of reasons. This population includes the influx of immigrants who move from villages or small towns to large cities. Being under the pressure of financial problems, some of these people are forced to live in outskirts. In majority of cases, their speech and acts contradicts the one of the host community which may not conclude to a happy ending.

There are stages and hierarchies to consider when these minority groups are going to mix with the majority of the population is large cities.The first step for development and progress in this area is to foster neighborhood participation. In developed societies, for example, it is important to hand over matters to residents and to select managers to deal with neighborhood affairs and this is due to the fact that local people are the one who are more aware of that neighborhood issues.

Building a “Neighborhood House” is one of the cultural activities in each city that can be developed to benefit citizens to acquire more services and to create a decent public environment. By creating such social centers, we can witness the reduction of social harm, the promotion of citizen's cultural and legal rights, and the provision of family counseling services for residence.

For this reason, the project of “Seid Abad Neighborhood House” which is planned to be constructed in outskirts, began to be studied and designed. According to statistical studies, most of the residents were basic workers and they were all from the lower classes of the society. Not only have they harmed from the shortage of health services but they have also suffered from unemployment in their spare time due to the lack of cultural centers in the district.

The idea behind the formation of this building was based on the spatial perception located among residential buildings. The best way of understanding space within the city was to look closely at the history of space design experiences that emerged in ancient cultures such as Greece by creating Agora, Rome by the creation of Forums, and Iran by setting fire temples in the form of quadrupeds. Being free from any architectural or spatial values around the site, creating an outstanding building was taken into consideration. The building which has decency in form, tranquility in proportion, and the introspection derived from it, is preferred over any of the modern volumes combinations.

“Seid Abad Neighborhood House” is a three-story building designed on a site with 426.31 square meters with the total 678 square meters area.
